Around 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the area, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

At the same time, nearly one thousand households in the southern state also faced energy failures after Melbourne experienced its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with continued storm activity expected across different parts of both areas.
